Meet On Q: 10 questions with Maria-Teresa Andreacchi

Fashion, technology and travel. Combine those three words and you have our Account Manager Maria-Teresa. On top of giving us all the scoop on fashion’s latest trends, she brings years of digital web experience to our team. She has experience training financial corporations on how to leverage social media, strategizing top national social media campaigns, creating digital content for various online publications and leveraging her double life as an online influencer to introduce influencer marketing to several of our clients. Oh, and did we mention she’s helped us secure 6 million media impressions in three months?

Whether you’ve read features about her in various Toronto media outlets or worked with her here at On Q, you’ll learn one thing quickly: she’s always in the know.

In one sentence explain what you do at On Q Communications.

I help brands stand out from the crowd through digital marketing, media relations or social media ideation. (A.K.A I do a lot of strategy!).

What does a typical work day look like to you?

First things first, I always check my to do list. So many people laugh at me but I NEED to make lists for everything — it helps me stay on track. Next I check my emails and then begin working on campaigns. A typical day consists of strategizing social media, staying up to date with digital trends, pitching clients to national media outlets and developing web strategies to raise brand awareness. And somewhere in between I make sure I have a coffee in hand. As the saying goes: Mascara. Coffee. Hustle.

If you could have one superpower what would it be?

Teleportation. I’m obsessed with travelling but 15 hour flights are NOT fun.

What do you do when you’re not working?

Whether it’s beauty videos for The Huffington Post, freelance writing for magazines or managing my blog Fashion. Food. Flair., you can always find me creating some sort of digital content. And of course online shopping. A lot of online shopping :).

Finish this sentence. I can’t start my day without _____________.

Coffee.

What’s the most memorable campaign you’ve worked on with On Q?

I worked on pitching the president of Professional Organizers in Canada to Vancouver radio stations for a month. It was a small campaign but so fun to work on. The producers were incredibly friendly and it was a thrill to listen to the shows as they were happening. I’m not a radio person because I don’t drive but I found myself obsessed with radio for a good four months after this campaign!

What’s your favourite spot in Toronto? Why?

The lake front. I love going for long runs along the lake or walking my yorkie there.

What’s one thing that makes you a unique, but a dynamite team member?

I began my career teaching elementary school so I’m good at keeping track of everything that’s going on and multitasking.

What are three words your co-workers would use to describe you?

Passionate, creative and fashionable.

What advice do you have for young PR or communications professionals looking to break out in their field?

Don’t be scared to put yourself out there and network. It’s a small network of PR professionals in Toronto — if you share your talents they will contact you next time they need work. It’s all about who you know!
