Meet On Q: 10 questions with Lisa Amos

As a fourth year York University Communication Studies student, Lisa chose to spend her summer expanding her knowledge in the communications industry. This passion is what lead her back to the 6ix, after spending the last year abroad, living in England and travelling Europe.

With a background stemming from volunteering at the Communication Studies’ Students Association at her university, she enjoys event planning, creating relationships with clients and writing. After graduation she hopes to turn those skills, along with her love of travel, into a career. But until then, she is discovering Toronto and learning all she can from this amazing opportunity at a busy communications firm.

In one sentence explain what you do at On Q Communications.

A little bit of everything; from creating content to helping client campaigns, my days are always varied and exciting.

What does a typical work day look like to you?

At the office, I tend to start the day by looking at my goals list, emails and figuring out what I can accomplish during the day. The nice thing about being at On Q is that every day looks different. There is always lots to do, and I tend to try to work on a few different tasks each day to keep up my energy on each project.

If you could have one superpower what would it be?

Flight! I love flying and travelling, but hate the confined spaces.

What do you do when you’re not working?

Toronto Island- Having grown up and lived on Vancouver Island almost my whole life, Toronto Island is the most similar to my hometown. It’s easygoing vibes, the beach, and the nature are all reminiscent of British Columbia, and if you look at the lake at the right angle, it almost could pass as the ocean.

What’s one thing that makes you a unique, but a dynamite team member?

My enthusiasm- I am very eager to learn as much as I can, and dip my toes in as many different projects as I can.
